Sportsbet.io is best known as a crypto sportsbook, and most of its traffic is betting on football, tennis and esports. For a fairness-first reader the casino side holds a smaller but real interest: six in-house originals with a documented provably fair system that is built differently from the Stake template almost everyone else copies. This Sportsbet.io review explains that system, what it covers and what it does not, then looks at the licence, banking and bonus.

No bet-level audit or payout test from our side has been logged at Sportsbet.io yet. The scores stay empty, and every timing below is the site's own claim.

How Sportsbet.io's provably fair system works

The provably fair guide describes a commit, play, reveal model:

1. Before the round, the server generates a secret server seed and publishes serverSeedHash = SHA256(serverSeed).
2. You supply a client seed or accept a generated one. A nonce counts each random event.
3. The three values are combined through HMAC-SHA256, and the output seeds a ChaCha20-based random number generator.
4. After the round, the server seed is revealed so you can recompute everything.

Two design choices stand out. First, ChaCha20 sits between the hash and the game, so one HMAC can feed as many random values as a game needs without the cursor trick used by Stake-style casinos. Second, when a game needs a number in a range, the guide says rejection sampling is used, which avoids the small modulo bias that naive range mapping introduces. Both are good practice.

The audit checklist, answered from the guide:

• Where are seeds shown? The client seed, server seed hash and nonce are visible during the round; the server seed is shown once the round resolves.
• Can the client seed be changed? Yes, "at any time".
• Is the nonce visible? Yes, before and after the round.
• What about card games? An initial deck is shuffled with Fisher-Yates and committed as SHA256(initialShuffle + serverSeed) before dealing. The final deck order is revealed afterwards.

Which Sportsbet.io games can be verified?

Because the generator is ChaCha20 rather than raw HMAC floats, our verify tool and other Stake-style checkers will not reproduce these results. You need an implementation that follows Sportsbet.io's own steps. The guide does not publish full source code, so a careful auditor will want to test a handful of rounds before trusting a home-made script.

Everything else on the site is outside the scheme. The 70 casino studios use their own certified RNGs, live tables are physical, and sports results come from real events. The footer links a separate "Fairness and RNG Testing Methods" section in the general terms for those.

What the Sportsbet.io fairness guide leaves out

The guide is clear on structure but stops short of a full specification. It names HMAC-SHA256 and ChaCha20 without stating the exact message format, for example whether the client seed and nonce are joined with a colon, or how the 32-byte HMAC output becomes the ChaCha20 key and nonce. It also describes the Dice, Roulette and Plinko mappings in words rather than code. Two independent developers could read it and write slightly different verifiers.

That matters for an audit. A provably fair claim is only as strong as a player's ability to reproduce the result without help from the casino. Where a casino publishes reference code, anyone can run it. Where it publishes a description, a failed check can be blamed on the player's implementation rather than on the casino. We would like to see Sportsbet.io publish a reference implementation or open-source verifier for its six originals, with test vectors that show known inputs and expected outputs.

Until then, the practical route is the in-game verification panel, combined with your own SHA-256 check of the revealed seed. The hash check is the part that cannot be faked: if the revealed server seed hashes to the value you were shown before the round, the seed was fixed in advance, whatever the mapping code looks like.

How to verify a Sportsbet.io original

1. Set your own client seed before playing, for extra assurance the result was not chosen against you.
2. Record the server seed hash and the nonce of the round.
3. When the round resolves, copy the revealed server seed and check that SHA-256 of it equals the published hash.
4. For a card game, also check that SHA-256 of the initial deck plus the server seed equals the published initialShuffleHash.
5. Recompute the HMAC-SHA256 output from the three inputs, seed ChaCha20 with it, and map the draws as the table above describes.

If step 3 or 4 fails, the commitment was broken and you should keep the seeds and raise it with support. Remember that a valid proof only shows the outcome was fixed in advance. It says nothing about the house edge, so read each game's payout table too.

Is Sportsbet.io licensed and safe?

EZ Spins Ltd, registration 16159, Hamchako, Mutsamudu, operates the site. We matched licence ALSI-202509076-FI2 on the Anjouan register: valid from 30 September 2025 to 29 September 2027, covering sportsbet.io, bitcasino.io and livecasino.io. The footer prints it as "F12", an apparent typo.

The general terms fall under Anjouan law.
