Degen review overview

Degen.com is a crypto casino and sportsbook licensed in Anjouan, and this Degen review puts its fairness claims first. Degen runs ten in-house games on a client seed, server seed and nonce, and it says it uses HMAC-SHA512 to produce results. It gives players an in-game verifier, but it does not publish the code or the exact formula, so an independent rebuild is not possible yet. Its licence is valid, its responsible gambling tools are strong, and several of its legal pages need work. We read its fairness, cashier, bonus and limits articles in the help centre on 6 November 2026 for this page.

No bet-level audit or payout test from us has been logged at Degen. This page describes what Degen publishes, and the scores stay blank until our own tests are recorded.

How Degen's provably fair system works

Degen's help centre describes a three-step commitment scheme in its provably fair article:

1. Commit. Before you bet, a server seed is generated and only its SHA-256 hash is shown. Your client seed is set by your browser or by you.
2. Bet. Each outcome is derived from the client seed, the server seed and a nonce that rises with every bet.
3. Reveal. When you rotate the pair, the old server seed appears in plain text so you can hash it and compare.

The commitment scheme article is more specific on primitives. SHA-256 hashes the server seed, and HMAC-SHA512 generates the outcome. Both are sound choices. SHA-512 gives 64 bytes per call, double the output of SHA-256, which suits games that need many random values.

The audit checklist:

• Where seeds are shown. In each game's Provably Fair modal: client seed, nonce and hashed server seed.
• Client seed control. Yes. You enter a new client seed and click Change or Rotate Seeds.
• Nonce visible. Yes, in the modal and needed for verification.
• Formula published. No. The HMAC message layout, the order of inputs, and the conversion from bytes to results are not documented.

Degen adds a practical warning: rotate only after all active bets have settled, or verification data for the old seed may be lost.

A commitment scheme only protects you if the hash is published before the bet and the seed after it, and Degen does both. What it cannot show on its own is that the outcome formula has no hidden step. That is why the published formula matters more than the primitive.

Which Degen games can be verified?

The originals are Dice, Limbo, Mines, Plinko, Keno, Blackjack, Roulette, Crash, HiLo and Flip. Every one can be checked inside Degen's own verifier, either in the game's modal or on the provably fair page, which has Overview, Verification and Seeds tabs.

The limitation is independence. A verifier run by the casino proves internal consistency, not that the published inputs drive the result in a way you could reproduce yourself. Until Degen posts the HMAC message format and per-game conversions, a third party cannot write a matching checker. Our verify tool uses the Stake-style HMAC-SHA256 float scheme, which we would not expect to match an HMAC-SHA512 implementation. Crash is a multiplayer game, and Degen does not say whether it uses a hash chain or per-player seeds.

Third-party slots, live dealer tables and the sportsbook rely on their providers' random number generators and cannot be verified with seeds.

How to verify a Degen bet

1. Open the game's Provably Fair section and note the client seed, the nonce and the hashed server seed.
2. Finish all open bets, then enter a new client seed and rotate. The previous server seed is revealed.
3. Hash the revealed seed with SHA-256 and confirm it matches the hash shown before you played.
4. Paste the client seed, server seed and nonce into the verification form on the provably fair page.
5. Compare the reproduced result with your bet slip.

Step 3 is the part you can do with any independent tool, and it is the step that proves the seed was locked in. Steps 4 and 5 currently depend on Degen's own code.

Is Degen licensed and safe?

The operator is Degen Legend Limitada, registration 3-102-932227, San José, Costa Rica. Licence ALSI-202509061-FI2 is valid on the Anjouan register from 19 September 2025 to 18 September 2027, covering degen.com and csgobig.com.

The legal pages are weaker than the licence. The terms name no governing country, saying only that the laws "we are subject to" apply, and publish no list of restricted countries. The accounts and payouts policy contains an unfilled placeholder, "[Anjouan Authority or Other Jurisdiction License]", in its dispute clause. On the positive side, section 9.1 says deposits are held in segregated accounts or wallets, and dormancy is defined, at around 12 months without activity.

Degen deposits and withdrawals

Banking is crypto only: BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, SOL, LTC and XRP per the network guide, with DOGE and TRON shown in the footer. USDT works on ERC-20, TRC-20 and Solana. Accounts can be opened by email or through Google, Telegram, MetaMask or Phantom.

Degen's withdrawal FAQ says crypto withdrawals are usually instant once submitted, with larger or flagged requests going to manual review. It asks players to contact support if a request stays pending for over an hour. Limits are displayed in the cashier, not written into the terms, and network fees apply. Identity, wallet ownership and source-of-funds checks can be requested before a payout under sections 8.1 and 8.4.

Degen bonus terms

The first deposit bonus is 100% up to $1,500, from $20, at 30x deposit plus bonus. It needs an eligible referral code at sign-up and must be applied before you deposit. The bonus terms weight every bet by house edge: stake times edge divided by 0.04, so originals at a 1% edge count a quarter of each bet. There is a $10 maximum bet, no bonus buys or accumulator games, and withdrawals and tips are locked during the rollover. Unusually, there is no deadline to finish. Worked through, a $200 deposit with a $200 bonus needs $12,000 in counted wagers. On a slot with a 4% edge that is $12,000 staked; on a 1% edge original it is four times as much, $48,000. Sports bets count only at odds of 1.30 or higher and only once settled.

Rakeback runs from 3% to 8% on casino play across 26 levels, plus a flat theoretical 3% on settled sports bets.

Degen games and providers

Besides the ten originals, Degen offers slots, live casino, blackjack, roulette, baccarat and game shows from outside studios, plus a sportsbook with wide esports coverage. It does not publish a provider list or total game count that we could confirm. For fairness purposes the split is simple: the ten originals run on Degen's seed scheme, and everything else depends on certified third-party random number generators that no player can check with seeds.

What Degen should publish next

Three additions would move Degen from partly verifiable to fully auditable:

• The exact HMAC-SHA512 message, for example the order of client seed, nonce and any cursor, and the separator between them.
• The conversion for each original, such as how bytes become a dice roll, a card order or a Mines grid.
• For Crash, whether rounds come from a pre-committed hash chain and where the terminal hash is published.

Casinos that publish these let players and sites like ours write independent checkers. Until Degen does, its fairness rests on its own verifier.

Degen VPN policy

VPN use is banned. Section 14.3 treats circumventing restrictions with VPNs or proxies as a violation of the terms.

Degen customer support

Support is around the clock through live chat and support@degen.com. The help centre has short, dated articles on accounts, payments, rewards, fairness and responsible gaming. If a fairness check fails, the place to raise it is live chat first, with the seed pair, nonce and bet ID ready. Because the terms name no external dispute body and the payout policy leaves its regulator reference blank, there is no clear escalation route beyond Degen itself, so keep your own records of every seed rotation.

Degen responsible gambling tools

The tools are better than average. Self-exclusion can run for a day, a week, a month, six months or permanently, applied to casino, sports or the whole platform. A 24-hour timeout is available, and loss and wager limits by day, week or month take effect at once, with a 24-hour cooling-off before any increase or removal.

Is Degen worth it for provably fair play?

Degen has the building blocks: a real commitment scheme, player-controlled client seeds, visible nonces and a working verifier for all ten originals. What it lacks is publication. Without the HMAC-SHA512 message format and the per-game conversions, you are trusting Degen's verifier rather than checking the maths yourself. The Anjouan licence is valid, withdrawals are described as instant, and the limit tools are strong, but the legal pages need tidying. Scores will be added once our audits and payout tests are logged.
