Odds converter: American, decimal and fractional

Type odds in any box. The others update, along with the implied probability and what a bet pays.

How it works

Decimal odds are the total return per 1 staked, including the stake. American odds show the profit on a 100 bet when positive, and the amount you need to stake to win 100 when negative.

To convert positive American odds to decimal, divide by 100 and add 1: +150 becomes 2.50. For negative odds, divide 100 by the number and add 1: -200 becomes 1.50.

Implied probability is 1 divided by the decimal odds. At 1.91 the price implies about 52.4%. If you think the real chance is higher than that, the bet has value.

Frequently asked questions

What does -110 mean?
You stake 110 to win 100 in profit. In decimal that is 1.909, and the implied probability is 52.4%.
Which odds format do Canadian sportsbooks use?
Most sportsbooks that take Canadian players show decimal odds by default and let you switch to American in the settings. Mise-o-jeu+ in Quebec uses decimal odds.
Why do the two sides of a line add up to more than 100%?
The extra is the sportsbook margin, also called the vig. Use the no-vig calculator to remove it and see the fair probabilities.

Key terms

American odds
A US odds format: a positive number is the profit on 100 staked, a negative number is the stake needed to win 100.
Decimal odds
The European odds format, giving total return per one unit staked, so 2.50 returns 2.50 for every 1 bet, stake included.
Implied probability
The probability an odds price represents, calculated as one divided by the decimal odds, before the bookmaker's margin is removed.
Moneyline
An outright winner bet; in two-way sports like tennis it is the match price, while soccer adds the draw as a third outcome.
