Block explorer
A public search tool for a blockchain where you can look up any transaction, wallet address or block.
A block explorer indexes a blockchain and displays its contents in a form you can search. Every major chain has one or more explorers, and you can query them by transaction hash, wallet address or block height.
Independent proof of your transfers
An explorer removes the need to take a cashier's word for anything. It shows when a transaction hit the network, when it entered a block, how many confirmations it now has, and what fee it paid, which often explains a slow transfer.
Uses for a crypto gambler
- Confirming that a deposit landed at the casino's address, and counting its confirmations.
- Checking that a withdrawal really left the casino, and which address received it.
- At some casinos, reading the public chain data that feeds the provably fair scheme for crash games.
Keep privacy in mind
Anyone can see every other payment an address has sent or received. If your wallet can generate a new address for each withdrawal, use one, so your gambling activity is harder to connect.
