Maximum bet rule
A bonus clause capping your stake per bet while wagering is in progress; a breach can cost you your winnings.
Nearly every set of bonus terms limits your stake while the wagering requirement is open, for instance $5 per spin or 10% of the bonus. Bets over that ceiling may not count toward wagering, and many casinos reserve the right to cancel both bonus and winnings if you go over.
A leading cause of confiscations
In player complaints about withheld winnings, this clause comes up again and again. Some game interfaces happily accept a bigger stake with no warning, so a single slip is enough to breach it.
How it plays out
You hold a $200 bonus capped at $5 per bet. One spin goes in at $10 and lands $400. At withdrawal, the casino reviews your bet history, spots the $10 stake, and strips the bonus along with everything it produced.
Staying inside the rule
- Note the limit before you play and keep every stake under it.
- Check whether bonus buys, gamble or double features count as bets.
- When in doubt, ask support in writing and save their answer.
