Game weighting
How much of each bet counts toward clearing a wagering requirement, set by the casino per game type.
Game weighting, also known as game contribution, decides what share of each wager is credited toward a bonus requirement. Slots are commonly credited at 100%. Table games, live dealer tables and some low-edge originals may count at 10%, 5% or not at all.
The reason behind it
Weighting exists so players cannot burn through wagering on games where the house edge is tiny, which includes many provably fair originals. Playing a game weighted at 10% in effect multiplies your requirement by ten.
Numbers
Say you must wager $2,000. On slots at 100%, $2,000 of spins does it. At blackjack weighted 10%, you would need $20,000 in hands. On a game weighted 0%, the requirement can never be met.
Reading the terms
- Find the contribution table in the bonus terms; it is often lengthy and detailed.
- Look for excluded game lists, which frequently target high RTP slots.
- Check whether playing an excluded game with a bonus active lets the casino void it. Many terms allow exactly that.
