BitStarz casino review: what we found
We review BitStarz the way we rank every crypto casino, fairness first and payouts second. BitStarz is a licensed, fast paying crypto casino, but its provably fair claim covers only its Originals and comes with no published algorithm or seed details. Players who want to verify results themselves will find little to check.
BitStarz is a long running crypto and card casino, launched in 2014, with more than 9,000 games and 12 accepted coins. Gareton B.V. is the operating company named in the BitStarz rules in Curaçao. Our team runs a funded account and has timed deposits and cashouts on it. For a provably fair ranking the short answer is that BitStarz is a slots casino first, with a small set of in-house Originals that it describes as provably fair.
That claim matters for this site, so this review sets out what BitStarz actually publishes about fairness, and where it falls short.
Is BitStarz provably fair? How the system works
On the BitStarz front page, the house Originals are billed as "provably fair, so you can check the result yourself." Beyond that line, nothing on the operator's own pages could be confirmed. We could not find a public fairness page that sets out:
- the hash function used (for example HMAC-SHA256)
- how the server seed, client seed and nonce are combined
- where the seeds are shown in the game
- whether you can change your client seed
- whether the nonce is visible per bet
Without those, a player cannot check a result independently of the casino's own tools, and we cannot score the system the way we score casinos that publish their algorithm. The terms and bonus terms say nothing about provably fair either. We treat this as a gap, not a failure: the Originals may show seeds inside the game, but until BitStarz publishes the method, the claim rests on its word.
Which BitStarz games can be verified
BitStarz says its Originals can be checked, but the pages we could read do not list them by name. Everything else in the 9,000 game lobby is third party content: slots from Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, Hacksaw Gaming, Play'n GO, Nolimit City, BGaming and others, and live tables from Evolution. Those games rely on the studios' RNG certification and cannot be verified by seed. On our scale that makes BitStarz partial: a small provably fair corner in a very large conventional casino.
Who licenses BitStarz, and is it safe?
The licence is checkable. We opened the regulator's licence certificate, which shows licence OGL/2024/165/0185, held by Gareton B.V. (company no. 160656), marked active since its 8 July 2024 issue date, covering bitstarz.com plus its mirrors. That is the newer LOK licence held directly by the operator, which is a step up from the old master licence model.
Even so, the rulebook favours the house in places. Section 8.7.3 allows large wins to be paid in monthly instalments. Section 8.7.11 lets BitStarz lock an account when a verification phone call is not done inside 14 days of asking to cash out. Inactive accounts pay a monthly fee of 5 EUR or more under section 13.1. The restricted list in section 3.6 is long and includes the US, UK, France, Spain, the Netherlands and much of Eastern Europe.
How fast does BitStarz pay out?
Coins supported: BTC (Lightning works for deposits), USDT via ERC-20 or TRC-20, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC, BCH, DOGE, XRP, BNB, TRX and ADA. Visa and Mastercard are also there. Thanks to a Buy Crypto option and a built-in coin Exchange, you can fund or switch coins without leaving the site.
We timed our cashouts: crypto and e-wallet payouts came through inside the hour, card and bank payouts after several working days. The casino claims a typical approval time of roughly 3 minutes, and clause 8.7.1 sets a target of paying inside 1 hour. Crypto cashouts are fee free (8.7.10), and BitStarz says it sets no caps per day or per month. Each deposit needs 1x turnover before you can take it out (9.9). Identity checks are compulsory (7.1) and may involve ID, proof of address under 90 days old, a selfie with ID or a phone call. No verification timeframe is stated.
Is the BitStarz bonus fair? Wagering and limits
New accounts can collect as much as 5 BTC and 180 spins across four deposits, per the promotions page: 100% up to 1 BTC with 180 spins, then 50% up to 1 BTC, 50% up to 2 BTC and 100% up to 1 BTC. According to the promotion rules, playthrough is 40x (3.4), a 7 day expiry (3.7), a maximum bet of 0.00006 BTC or 5 USD (3.10), and live, table and instant titles count at just 5% (3.5). The free spins only arrive if you wager your first deposit within 24 hours (2.1). We found no stated cashout cap on the welcome bonus.
What games and providers does BitStarz offer?
Over 9,000 titles are on offer. Among the suppliers are Pragmatic Play, Evolution, Hacksaw Gaming, NetEnt, Nolimit City, Play'n GO, BGaming, Booming Games, Clawbuster and Platipus. Section 4 of the terms lists provider level country blocks, so the lobby you see depends on where you play from.
Can you play at BitStarz with a VPN?
Clause 4.3 warns that dodging a studio's geo-block with a VPN "is strictly prohibited" and can cost you your winnings. Some providers block whole countries, so a VPN to reach a blocked game puts any win at risk.
How do you reach BitStarz support?
Support runs 24/7 by live chat and email at [email protected], according to section 12.2 of the terms. The FAQ is split into account, payments, bonuses, security and responsible gaming. We found no list of supported languages.
Self-exclusion is handled by asking support, according to the safer play page, which also points to Gam-Anon, GamCare and Gordon House. Deposit, loss and session limits are not described there, which is thin for a casino of this size.
Is BitStarz worth it? Our final verdict
BitStarz is a well established, properly licensed crypto casino that sent our crypto cashouts inside the hour and charged nothing to do it. For provable fairness it scores low. The Originals are described as provably fair, but BitStarz does not publish the algorithm, the seed handling or a game list, so players cannot verify results on their own terms. If verifiable games are your priority, there are better choices. If you want a large slots library with a checkable licence, BitStarz is a reasonable pick.
