Transaction hash

The unique identifier of a blockchain transaction, which anyone can search on a block explorer to check its status.

A transaction hash, often written TXID or tx hash, is a character string that pins down a single transaction on a chain. Enter it into an explorer for that chain to see sender, recipient, amount, fee, timestamp and confirmation count.

Your receipt on-chain

The hash is your proof that a payment happened. When a deposit goes missing or a withdrawal is disputed, it shows what actually took place. For every withdrawal in our payout tests we log the hash, so readers can check our timings without relying on us.

Example

The casino tells you a withdrawal has gone out and supplies a hash. Searching it on a Bitcoin explorer shows the transaction confirmed 14 minutes later, with the right amount, to your address. If a casino has no hash to give you, the payment most likely has not been broadcast yet.

Practical tips

  • Use an explorer that matches the chain; a Tron hash will not appear on an Ethereum explorer.
  • Keep hashes alongside dates and amounts for your tax records.
